David Woody has been fly fishing for over 30 years.
David started fly fishing for trout in the small mountain streams of western North Carolina as a self taught fly fisher, having a limited amount of equipment but an unlimited drive to fish. Learning to cast, tie flies, and fish at the ”trial and error school of fly fishing” instilled a mindset of how to catch fish anywhere the passion of fly fishing might take him.
David’s quest for fly fishing has taken him from the Florida Keys to southwestern Alaska to the “holy waters” of the Greater Yellowstone area. He has fished for cold, warm and salt water species in over a dozen states and has landed over 35 different species of fish on the fly.
David currently resides in Andrews, NC.
