Teammates Thompson and Sprouse Two of Sixteen Finalists in Field and Stream’s Total Outdoorsman Challenge

Team Stonefly is proud to recognize teammates Paul Thompson and Michael Sprouse as two of sixteen finalists in the 2010 Field and Stream Total Outdoorsman Challenge.

Now in it seventh year, the Total Outdoorsman Challenge tests thousands of competitors nationwide to see who’s “deadly with a bow, can cast a fly rod as well as a trout guide, can bust clays with a side-by-side, and maneuver an ATV in the mud.”  In short, it’s a grueling series of challenges to determine who’s the best all around outdoorsman.

From 48 qualifying events held across the country, 200 of the top performers advance to four regional qualifiers.  From the field of 200, twelve go on to compete against last year’s top 3 finishers and one wild-card participant.

Thompson, who finished a close second in this year’s Nashville regional, is a 3 time Total Outdoorsman Champion.  Sprouse, who finished second in the Leed’s regional, is looking for his first TOC crown.

At stake is the title of  Total Outdoorsman and a first prize purse of  $25,000 in cash.
